The top Portuguese bloggers who inspire us

Prior to The Red Wolf, my knowledge of the world of fashion blogs was residual, to the point of not memorizing a single name.

During the first investigations carried out, together with Joana, he repeatedly answered “I don't know Me”and, therefore, it was necessary to devote myself to the subject and follow Joana's suggestions religiously.

Among the suggested blogs, three caught my attention over a long period of time. The feeling of letting myself be carried away was great and a good reason to regularly follow the blog D Concept, Anita & Blog e Stylista.

I appreciate these three blogs because they communicate about the same area in a complementary way. It is true that I do not follow them for the same reasons that people usually follow them. My interest is mainly in the way they communicate, how they combine colors, framing images, facial expressions and the natural relationship they establish with the camera.

Drizinha - blog D Concept

Dri, author of the blog D Concept is a nurse by profession and has training in image consulting, styling and fashion production. She's obviously passionate about what she does. She tries not to be carried away by trends and her attitude, assumed relaxed, define a lot of her style.

She was the first blogger we illustrated for our blog and what appeared only as an initial sketch, quickly became the final illustration.

I like to believe that the relaxation that Dri reveals in her images was the reason why I created the illustration so quickly.

Dri's facial lines are strong and it's an advantage for those who draw.

The experience of illustrating Dri was great and we were willing to repeat or at least try to complete our triologyof the Portuguese bloggers who inspire us.

Anita Costa - Anita & The Blog

Anita, her real name (not Ana), lives in our city, Porto. Trained in Law, she has a writing that contrasts with the laws of formality. The humorous subtlety of his texts always puts me in a good mood.

Drawing Anita's face was a real challenge, there were countless drawings until I was able to convince myself that I had something to send to Joana who was walking through the streets of Lisbon at the time. The answer was immediately negative, “forget! It doesn't look like Anita.” So much effort and a simple sms had brought me to the mat. It was necessary to convince me that the challenge of identifying someone through illustration was a job that required a good dose of struggle. Anita's face is soft and delicate, so the design had to be minimalist and the few lines that exist had to be revealing of her identity. There was no margin for merely aesthetic lines. In the end, this illustration had taken me three times the expected time.

Illustration Maria Guedes — Stylist.

Maria Guedes — Stylist

To complete our inspiring trio, we needed to illustrate Maria Guedes, author of the blog and Stylista market. At the end of November we had the opportunity to make our debut in Lisbon, at the Winter Market Stylista 2016 and get to know his work more closely. The experience was a success and exceeded all our expectations.

In the illustration for Maria we were looking for a novelty in drawing. We wanted to match the first one with an element that conveyed its sophistication and softness.

We choose the line and cross it from one side of the drawing to the other. Simple and effective as Maria is.
